So, we went back one more time. This year the food portions were extremely small and poorly cooked. One of the wait staff looked like he hadn't bathed and was wearing a baseball hat. Food again served intermittently. But, the coup de gras (sp?) was after we ordered coffee, we were told they were brewing a fresh pot. 10 minutes later - no coffee, but the waiter asked if we could all consolidate ourselves (10 of us) into one table because they needed our table. (Still no coffee.) My husband said, "Bring me the bill and we'll get the h**ll out of here." Bill came 20 minutes later. It appears they are catering to a young, bar crowd. Bar very noisy with seriously inebriated college crowd. Since the bar and restaurant are together - this made eating not fun. Won't be going back. Too bad We used to love this place. ...read more

Every year we end our vacation with dinner at the Steam Donkey. The food is very good considering the size of the kitchen. Basic steak, chicken and shrimp. The service can be spotty - one year slow another year fast. Be sure to make a reservation, especially if you want to eat outside. If you have a large party and are seated at two or more tables, make sure the waiter knows this - our children werent' served their dinner until the aduults were finishing their coffee! ...read more
