This place is awesome. Start with the Chicken taquio's... then go for ANYTHING! My personal favorite is the sweet and sour enchillada's with Habenero sauce (on the side) but really.... everything on the menu is fantastic! The service is EXCELLENT! and don't be afraid to ask Chef Isreal to come out personally and make comments or suggestions. We drive 75 miles to eat there......ITS WORTH IT!!!!! ...read more

We get our treat of pizza from Boar's Breath because they make our favorite with B'B'Q sauce and it is gooood! Always a bit expensive and most of the time they have that "i'm busy, so hurry" attitude, but where else can you go for BBQ pizza sauce? Go beyond the attitude and it is a good place to treat yourself in town. ...read more

I am a permanent resident of San Francisco and have owned a second home in Hidden Valley Lake since 2003. We have been dining at the Cowpoke Cafe for five years and find it to be escellent. The quality of the food is superb, the portions are more than sufficient...to say the least and the staff is wonderful. The atmosphere is exactly what you'de like to experience in this small town.......clean, and culturally appropriate to the cowboys and early days of this fine town.
