Pandelis never puts anything in writing, that way he can always come back and ask for more money. He will wait until the IRS sends a demand notice and then he'll come back and say that it was a lot more work than he anticipated. I met with him to do 2 years returns for $2000. More than 6 months later, I receive a letter from the IRS threatening to send my case to tax court for the 2 years they were preparing my tax returns for. Pandelis' office said I would need to give them a $4000 retainer to represent me for tax court and that this "is a very serious matter". Doubtful, I called the IRS myself ... the IRS were friendly and said that i only needed to file my tax returns and that there was no need to go to tax court. So i completed my returns myself, except for the real estate transactions. I had 5 home sales and 2 rentals during that period and gave Pandelis the statements to complete the returns. He then said it will be $9000 to finish the returns. ...read more
