will be hosting International Learn To Fly Day Event, Saturday May 21, 2011. The event begins with the flying of children ages 7-17 through the Young Eagles Program hosted by local chapter of the EAA 526.This will be taking place from 9am-4pm through the support of local pilots and volunteers. Following that stay for the party where there will be a BBQ from 4-7pm, endless aviation stories, live music and aviation movies hosted by Mach 5 Flight School. Stop by the TGH Airport Shop for great deals and demo’s, raffles and give-a-ways. At the TGH Airport Shop you will find a great selection of gift and novelties items, pilot supplies, instructional information and much more. Making it a perfect place to stop by and grab yourself a souvenir to remember the great day you are going to have. The entire family will have plenty to experience including; ground school training, display aircraft, flight simulators, staging areas&exposure to some unique aircrafts. Our pilots are happy to tell you more about flying, plane types, and share with you the many types of careers and educational opportunities in aviation. The Airport will be Partnering up with EAA chapter 526, Mach 5 Aviation, TGH Aviation, California capitol Air Show, Threshold Technologies, Aerospace Museum of California, Jelly Belly, Bridgeford Flying Service, Sierra Helicopters, Civic Air Patrol 92 squadron and Placer Gold Chapter of the 99’s.   International Learn to Fly Day was created to invite people interested in the world of flight to discover more by meeting local aviators and discovering the initial steps toward "living the dream" of personal flight.  Nearly 600,000 people from all walks of life in the are licensed pilots, but millions more have dreamed of joining that group and experiencing the freedom of flight. And now here is a great opportunity to become familiar with the avionics community. Introductory flights spark continued interest in flight,, evidenced by recent research of the Young Eagles Program. Those receiving free flights through Young Eagles are five times more likely to become pilots.   This is an all age’s event so bring the whole family and expose them to the wonders of flight.
