About Water Street Restaurant & Lounge

Water Street Restaurant and Lounge is located along the cobblestone streets of DUMBO’s historic waterfront district in the shadows of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge.

Water Street Restaurant provides the most magnificent dining atmosphere and location under the Brooklyn Bridge. Nestled, near the East River, between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, there is no restaurant that parallels it. There is nothing more relaxing than enjoying some of our fine dining in a private room or in the main dining hall and enjoying our full menu and contemporary dining.

Water Street Restaurant and Lounge was built on the bottom two floors of a landmark warehouse and iron foundry in the area known as DUMBO.

The owner and operators transformed over 7,000 square feet of dramatic raw space, dating back to 1887; into an amazing property that morphs between a lounge and restaurant to a catering hall and versatile party space with plenty of room for weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, and other catered events.

After being in historic Brooklyn DUMBO for almost a decade, Water Street Restaurant is proud to introduce the new and already popular Southern Cuisine With a Twist menu. The menu is diverse enough to excite a variety of palates. The menu is supplemented daily with the Chef's Specials.

This venue is perfect for cocktail parties with passed hors d’oeuvres, private catered Breakfasts in our private dining rooms, Luncheons, Dinners, Brunches, Special Events — or just a chat at the bar.

We offer accommodations for all sizes of parties, from an intimate affair in our private dining rooms to a wedding reception hall, Bar Mitzvah, or just about anything that can be catered. This is the perfect space for big events and small ones. Our catering service is unbeatable and our continental food selection is impeccable.

We invite you to try out our Brooklyn Bridge restaurant in DUMBO now.

Total Upset!!

lthough this place did look nice and was very near the Brooklyn Bridge, The service has yet to live up to its reputation. My best friend decided to have her wedding party celebrate their wedding brunch at this location because she had a Brooklyn bridge themed wedding. She had read good reviews. However, things always happen at weddings with a few delays so the party arrived about 45 min late to the restaurant. The manager came to the table and pulled the bride's sister and in front of all the guests let her know that this party has till 4pm due to another reservation and that he needed the bill to be paid. Firstly, the place was very empty and we were not savages to be spoken to in such a manner. The wedding party consisted of only 15 people and we were a quiet group. Not to mention the wait staff, although they were nice people, we had to search for them to be served because most of the time they were out of sight! Upon the bride's arrival the manager instead of welcoming her told her that we had to be out by 4pm and make sure we tip his staff well. HOW RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS!! The bride and groom's day was ruined by this establishment. They had no appetite from how unwelcome they felt. The bride was in tears and the wedding party was left with a sour taste as we were rushed out of the establishment. The only reason they even got a star was because the food was actually good. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place unless something is done about their management staff. What should have been the happiest day of their lives turned out to be the biggest failure. I am very upset to see such great people have to go through this. We had to cut the cake back at the bride's mother's house in New Jersey because all she wanted to do was get back to where she knew she would always be welcomed.

BAD Food

Ok, so me and my boyfriend like to go out once a week for dinner to some nice place.. We enjoy all kinds food, would it be American, Italian, French or Asian Fusion.. So, last Saturday, we decide to chill in Dumbo and try the Water Street Restaurant...WOW, what a mistake.. First, we order appetizers.. I order Fried Calamari...it was extremely chewy.. then I ask the waitress if they can change shrimp in shrimp languini to some other seafood..she tells me no...as the shrimp is already mixed in.. then I order a side order of onion rings which they dont have that day.. I finally ordered crab cakes with french fries.. My G_D..those crab cakes look like beef patties..that's how much they were overcooked..and the fries..you could have broken a tooth while eating them..So I sent the food back which I have never done before and we left.
The only good thing, I can say about this place is that they are drinks were not bad.. We had some black cherry drink that was good.. Don't go there.. Food is pre cooked..
