Vonage alternative Unia Telecom
got screwed by Vonage and signed up with Unia Telecom. Like the service so far but I had to upgrade my router (had a really old motorola).
Though a bit pricey, it's totally worth it as support is great and they seem socially responsible.
I actually went from SunRocket to Vonage and now to Unia Telecom. I have to say I'm pleased with Unia so far. They tell you the truth upfront about the requirements! This way you know whats expected and jsut not products shipped to you and then you have problems.

Intuitively easy setup...didn't need to call support
Signed up and received my package in a week. Plugged right into my router and configured in less than 20 minutes......pretty easy. Definitely an alternative to Vonage. Had Vonage for a year and setting up Vonage was painfull....had to deal with some Indian guy who claimed to be "George Smith".......yea right!
Unia took less than 20 minutes...can't beat that. Only issue was ordering additional handsets but those came in 3 days after....not bad at all. Hope this company continues to grow..

Yes, From the CEO (writing this) to the CSR, we all play the support role. I've caught some customers by surprise using this strategy. So when next you call Unia, you never know, you just may be talking to the chairman of the board........never know until you ask.
