DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE! The price
DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE! The price was almost three times what another local locksmith would charge, and the locksmith they sent me had the nerve to ask for gas money after triple charging me!

I don't spend my time writing reviews of things online, but I was so happy with the servce I received at Tri-County Locksmith that I just had to do something nice for them. I lost the key to my car, and TriCounty made me a new one for next to nothing. The man who helped me was both friendly and fast. The experience was a total pleasure.
By Barbiezab at Citysearch September 20, 2011 at 05:20 PMOh hey, let's T@#$ you over!
New to the city, I decided a car would be appropriate for the occasion. I could learn the streets, keep dry and maybe take a trip around the country if I'd like.\t\nHowever, the toll of not owning a car for a couple years comes at the price of forgetting one's keys. \t\nToday I went to the gym and after my work out, I realized I forgot my keys in the car. Oh, no! How terrible. I googled "Locksmith Milwaukie, OR" and came with an address that google gave me right nearby. I thought, "Oh, well, normally since my insurance isn't in effect, the rough cost would be $60. But since they're so nearby, maybe they'll be cheaper!" \t\nAnd so I called them.\t\n"Where are you?"\t\n"What's the make and model and year of the car?"\t\n"We'll be right there."\t\nGREAT! Speedy service and I'm sure they'll do the trick!\t\nBut no. Thirty minutes later a jolly older man comes and opens my door. I get my card ready and then he says to me, "Well. That'll be $98." \t\n"Excuse me?"\t\n"$98." \t\n"And WHY is it $98."\t\n"Oh, you know, $20 for opening and $78 for the drive here."\t\n"I thought you guys were nearby. Google told me so."\t\n"Oh no, google was wrong. We're at 82nd & Powell."\t\n"And the six mile drive is worth $78?!"\t\n"Yes."\t\nThe man tried to tell me my insurance company would pay for it. I told him my insurance wasn't in effect yet since I got the car this past weekend, fourth of July weekend. Still no remorse. No "Oh, I'm sorry we didn't tell you of our outrageous pricing! Let me cut $20 off!"\t\nI called later and asked the man if he was going to charge me so much, why wasn't I informed by someone of the flat rate? They did it in all the other cities I've lived in. But the owner only told me it wasn't Portland practice to tell people what you'll charge them. \t\nSo, Tri County Locksmith. I give you one star. Because although the job was done, you're nothing but a bunch of opportunistic pieces of #$@#.
