The ARC Alternative

This is an agency that helps people with disabilities find and maintain employment in the Wilmington, NC area. That said, they do a sorry job of it. They treat their clients like they are children instead of adults that just happen to be living with a disability. For example, they suggested that a woman with a high school diploma and a degree in child care get a job as a greeter at Walmart! They also recommended that she go to work at a ticket booth! The woman is smart and has a driver's license for heaven's sake! They worked with this woman for three years and could NOT find her a job! After three years to add insult to injury they proceeded to close her case without notifying her in any way! She had to call the director to find out and then the director was rude when she spoke with her. The director acted as if it were this client's fault that they could not find her a job! This is an extremely unprofessional agency and I would recommend them to nobody!
