Mapleton is a part of the Provo/Orem metro area of Utah known for its feud with neighboring Springville over water rights and having a more rural flavor, being farther away from I-15. Major attractions include the Old White Church, an old LDS chapel, and the annual 24th of July extravaganza. Each year there are dozens of opportunities to participate in sports and arts programs.
