Hands Down, Best Sushi in the Area!
My father introduced me to this little jewel a few months ago, and I've been on a sushi kick ever since. Tanaka has, in my opinion, some of the best california rolls around, and the freshest-tasting yellowtail, white tuna, octupus... you name it. I love that I can stop by on my lunch hour and order my favorite lunch combo: miso soup, ginger salad, tender chicken teriyaki, and a california roll ALL FOR $8.50! Can't beat it, especially when the food is as good as it is. Their ginger dressing is wonderful, and not overly sweet (I think they make it in-house). Add a cup of hot green tea (free) and you have a complete and fantastically fresh, filling meal.
Best Japanese around
If you're not a sushi fan, this place has the best katsu don in town. This is not some silly ""steakhouse"". The FOOD is the reason to go to Tanaka, not onion volcanoes. It's a tiny place, though. It can be difficult to get in with a large group.
