Very rushed

Two of my friends and myself had a girls night out recently. We decide on Sushi Huku based on the rave reviews.\t\nWe walk in and yes, it was crowded, but there were open tables. The greeter told us they were reserved for people with reservations. We asked to sit at the sushi bar which was completely open instead. As we sat down, the waitress comes over and screams NO NO NO SIT AT THE END! and ushers us next to the wall, all crammed together. I could not move my left arm because we were so crowded together next to the wall!\t\nI just don't understand why they thought at 9:30pm there would be some GREAT rush of people wanting to sit at the sushi bar! However, we certainly would have moved down IF there was.\t\nSo we order our sushi and soup and the waitress just kept rushing around with our water and our soup and reaching to get our sushi for us.\t\nWe literally were fed in under six minutes. I certainly would have ordered something else had I not felt so rushed! The waitress kept saying anything else? anything else? like we were being a huge imposition.\t\nWe said, no, paid and left after about 13 minutes.\t\nI honestly cannot remember if the sushi was good or not because of us being crammed in, rushed, and ushered out. Weird! PS the tables that had the "reservations?" still empty as we left...

I became a sushi lover...

I am really not a sushi fan, but when my sister brought me here, I became one. It's not just a few pieces of fish - it was art on a plate. The atmosphere was also definitely a plus.

Best sushi in Southeast US

Just by pure luck discovered Shushi-Huku in 2001. Since then ownership changed twice, and it is one of the oldest running restaurants in the area.\t\n\t\nThe new crew brought this little jewel to it's highest standards since I became a believer.\t\nJay-san (sushi-chef), Brendon-san (sushi-man), the kimono cladded hostesses: most lovely and witty Kathy-san and the inefable Aiko-san (the lady HAS a sense of humor) give this place an endearing touch, Always greeting patrons in and out with traditional enthusiasm.\t\n\t\nI live in The Netherlands and travel 80% of my time on international business.\t\n\t\nWhen in Atlanta Sushi-Huku is the restaurant of choice for a relaxed, healthy, always top quality meal.\t\n\t\nUnlike other self-proclaimed sushi restaurants in the area, you will find here patrons of japanese origen - always a good sign.\t\nTypical engineer, to contrast my hypothesis, brought a japanese colleague to Sushi Huku, he was delighted and commented: This is exactly like a traditional/classic sushi place in a small town (not Tokyo!) in Japan! A taste from home.\t\n\t\nThe Price/value ratio is as expected. The quality is second to none (ask Jay to bring out a fresh blue-fin tuna!) they source their fish in the traditional way: full fish, no filet.\t\nI've ate sushi almost everywhere from Argentina to Netherlands, from Chile to Indonesia: Sushi-Huku is the real thing.\t\n\t\nThey also carry a fantastic selection of traditional japanese food, abundant and always cooked to perfection.\t\n\t\nabel.\t\n\t\nPS1: they keep the strict traditional japanese culinary rules, i.e. no ketchup/mayo or other atrocities on their sushi\t\nPS2: if you want to really impress a spouse/friend this is the business
