Sun George Homes

We decided to "attempt" to have a home built. Don't even know where to begin.
1. Wrong granite was installed, and installed wrong. Huge gaps in master bathroom.
2. The house was brick, but the brick crew used different color mortar on the front of the house, the first 1/3 of the wall.
3. Cabinets were stained over damaged parts of the cabinets or pencil marks made during cabinet construction were stained over.
4. Back splash in kitchen was installed 4 inches past counter top down wall, only because the outlet was placed wrong in the kitchen.
5. Tile work in master shower was sloppy and uneven.

We brought these issues up to the sellers realtor, (who has about the same personality as the builder) and nothing was corrected. We were 30 days out from closing when I asked when the driveway would be poured. It was then they finally admitted that they had know idea when the house would be finished. Luckily we have a rockstar agent who was able to get us out of the contract with our earnest money. We still lost about $1100 from tile upgrades and the appraisal.

The icing on the cake was when other people who bought houses from this guy came over to us to tell us all of the horror stories. No warranty service, no returned phones calls, etc. The last couple to buy who were next to the house we were building told us that the punchlist from his closing over 3 months ago was still not completed and he had to complete it himself.

The lack of workmanship that we saw in aesthetics is most likely the tip of the iceberg to what you can't see behind the walls and in the electrical and plumbing. He expects the buyer to accept his horrible work and be happy they have a new home. I can't stress enough, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS GUY OR JULIE AT COLDWELL PACESETTER.....

THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN GETTING YOUR MONEY. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT QUALITY. IF YOU EVER HAVE ISSUES WITH REPAIRS OR WARRANTY, YOU WILL GET NOWHERE! THEY WILL AVOID YOUR EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS. IF YOU DO GET THEM ON THE PHONE AND GEORGE DOESNT WANT TO DEAL WITH YOU, HE WILL HANG UP ON YOU.
HE IS AN AWFUL PERSON!!!

We purchased our home while I was recovering from cancer treatments. My husband was a wreck, and he had words with Sun George, but we got 2300 square feet, tile throughout the common areas, 4 bed/3 full bathrooms and two car garage with 12 foot ceilings, crown molding, coffered ceiling in master, custom cabinets, faux wood blinds throughout, fully sodded and fenced yard, custom cabinetry throughout, massive laundry room, corian countertops and sink. All this for 200k! We bought it in 2006 and had only one issue with plumbing. I'm so glad my friend dragged me over to see that house on our lunch break! We were about to sign a deal on a smaller house with no amenities in Rancho Vista, for the same price. The small repair was worth the thousands of dollars in upgrades and space we gained with Sun George.
