Strategic Behavioral Center-Wilmington is a 72 bed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) serving male and female adolescents ages 12-17. Located in Leland, North Carolina across the Cape Fear River from Wilmington, SBC utilizes a multi-disciplinary treatment team approach, with a dedication to the highest quality care in the State. Strategic Behavioral Center provides a structured and safe environment with a therapeutic level system, behaviorally driven point system, and behavior management system. The staff is thoroughly trained in the implementation of SBC’s behavior modification process. The Therapy Department is staffed with a diverse group of licensed therapists who provide outstanding individual, family, and group therapy. Strategic Behavioral Center uses certified Recreation Therapists to assist residents in developing social skills and coping skills through therapeutic recreational activities. The nursing staff is second to none in providing high quality nursing care, and our educational department sets us apart from other PRTFs in helping adolescents meet their educational needs.
SBC’s professional staff is prepared to provide outstanding care for adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral problems, serving a population with general psychiatric disorders such as: depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, bi-polar disorder, substance abuse, mood disorder, and others.
