Turned their backs on the HIV+ Community
I was a patient at the Special Health Resources, Longview branch for many years and have been witness to the facility slowely turning their backs on the HIV+ community that they were providing care for. The quality off care for HIV+ patients has deteriorated from outstanding to the bare minimum required to keep funding. The doctor only visits the clinic twice a month, most of the time you are relegated to the care of a Nurse Practitioner who may or may not have any experience with HIV. I quit g oing to this facility after I was unable to see the actual doctor for a year. The facility has shifted its focus to providing cheap medical care to tthe general population and has relegated its HIV clientele to second class status.. If you are HIV+ seek care elsewhere if you can. You will noot find adequate care here.
