Bernina sales and service --- kudos

While I enjoy the fabric store aspect of QWNW, this review and rating is for the Bernina sales and service. \t\n\t\nI've had such positive experiences-- from the first introduction to the various machines from Pam (who knows her product well, and does a beautiful job selling, but not being pushy or ""overselling"") to the classes with a variety of instructors.\t\n\t\nRecently, my machine suffered a sort of freak accident when a needle shattered during free motion quilting. My heart dropped when I heard a new, and not at all attractive clunking sound with every stitch. Further, it's not a good thing when a small broken piece of metal falls out of the bobbin area. I feared a VERY expensive repair. \t\n\t\nI called in to see what they could do for me, and the tech talked me through a variety of possible easy-to-do-yourself fixes. As it became clear that my machine did have something significantly wrong, he encouraged me to bring it in for a look. I sadly drove in with Bob Dylan's ""Everything is Broken"" on repeat. \t\n\t\n I did in fact have a broken piece (bobbin race), and he gave me an estimate for getting a new piece direct from Bernina in Switzerland. As I had feared, the price was painfully high. However, he did assure me that if he was able to simply replace the small broken clip and not the entire piece, he would do so.\t\n\t\nCan you imagine how happy (and grateful) I was to have my machine back in great running order, and the bill was under $5? That is a really wonderful service department -- and they've got my loyalty now. They could have charged me close to $200, and I'd have never known there was another option. A good service team is key to enjoying a high end sewing machine, and in my book, the folks at QWNW Bernina are the best. It was ""Oh, What a Beautiful Morning"" on the CD all the way home.
