Palmetto Kennels

THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE A WONDERFUL JOB ON MY YORKIES! ALSO MY DOGS LOVE TO STAY THERE. THEY MUST GET VERY SPOILED CAUSE THEY DONT WANT TO LEAVE!

I can name a dozen places near Charlotte that sound good but having looked around at them they were unacceptable. Waxhaw Way Kennels comes to mind, putting dogs in cement houses in 100' weather then to find out that they were breeding dogs--gross and unsettling. (Thankfully, they were caught and out of business)

I agree about Pineville Pet Quarters--smells like urine and staff didn't seem to care. I went their once and it was enough.

We used to go up to Mt, Pleasant ,which was a nice kennel except their staff smoked non-stop around the dogs--it was like walking into a smoke house. I can name off many more and if you have looked around you will agree with me. Posh Pets--nothing posh about having dogs in cages above other dogs!

On the other hand, Palmetto is not brand new or state of the art but, it is very clean and the staff work really hard.

We searched high & low to find a high quality kennel for our 5 dogs and have been going to Palmetto for the last 7 years!

We are extremely picky since we have rescue dogs and found many kennels closer to our home not up to our high standards at all. (One place --Pineville Pet quarters--hit my chocolate lab infront of us---the owner of the place just said that the staff memeber must be having a bad day.....)

Palmetto is the absolute best! We have a 16 year lab with special needs that they give her extra special attention and our other dogs wag and jump around in our SUV when we pull into the drive.

Linda and her crew keep the place neat and clean and everyone is so friendly. They always greet the dogs by name and give them going away hugs.

I personally do not think they charge enough---a real bargain!! They really love animals---highly recommend!
