Off The Cuff

I just called to ask the price for fixing a zipper. The woman that answered the phone said she had to see the zipper. I explained that I just wanted an estimate or price range. The woman completely flipped out on me, she told me to take it to another cleaners and hung up the phone! I did not have an attitude or ask anything unreasonable. I've never experienced such unprofessional behavior! Beware of this place.

On January 31, 2010 I took pants to have a zipper put in and the lady charged me $15 dollars. When I received the pants back she had sewn the zipper to my pants so I couldn't step in my pants. Today 2/5/2010 I brought in the pants along with some other items to be cleaned and asked her could she just undo the thread so that I could put on my pants. I was late for work arguing with this lady because she refused to admit that she made a mistake. She said that she never sewn those pants and that she charges $20 for a zipper. First of all she asked me to leave a deposit when I wanted to get the zipper fixed so I paid in full. I came to pick up a coat after going there two mornings straight for a coat that she said would be ready in two days and the pants were ready. I didn't have the receipt for the pants so I signed a little black book she keeps. I reminded her that I signed the black book. She found my name and the original receipt and still proceeded to say that she was a professional and that she didn't put a zipper in those pants that they were another pair of pants and that I should go home and check because maybe I did this to my pants. All I wanted was for her to use something to unstitch my pants so that I can wear them. I really would like to speak to the owner. She was very irate this morning even with all the proof right there in front of her face.

I've read the other reviews here, and I was totally surprised by them. I love Off the Cuff -- best tailoring I've ever had, and the woman who works there has been nothing but warm and friendly with me. She's done everything from regular dry cleaning to shortening a pair of jeans to taking in my wedding dress for me, and the work has been superior every time. I've also recommended her to several friends, and they've all had positive experiences. She always quotes me a price that I've found reasonable for the fantastic quality of her work, and never has she laughed at me or mocked me or given me misleading information. I won't go to anyone *but* Off the Cuff!
