Reviews about Mullaney's Home Health Care
Horrible Service
My 13 year old cat with epilepsy requires medication every 12 hours to control her seizures. She has been on this medication for 2.5 years and I have used 5 different pharmacies with no issues. I recently moved to Cincinnati and chose Mullaney's pharmacy for her medication. I was told that it takes 24 hours for a prescription to be ready after it is called in. The first time I used the pharmacy it was called in by the vet and ready fine. This past week, I called in to refill the prescription Wednesday around noon. I spoke to Chris who repeated the 24 hour line. I knew I would need it Friday. Normally I don't cut it that close but somehow my 30 day prescription was almost gone in under 3 weeks. I was not expecting to need it so soon. At the last minute, I was asked to work on Friday. So I arranged for a relative to pick up the prescription and then give my cat her scheduled dose.
On Friday, my relative shows up to pick up the prescription and is told it won't be ready for 5 hours. She was told the refill was called in Thursday evening. Even upon hearing the cat needed the medicine soon, they refused to budge. All they would say is I knew the rules and it hadn't been 24 hours. The staff talked to my relative like she was a child and repeatedly lectured her about the rules. After 30 minutes was wasted while the pharmacy staff argued with my very persistent relative, they finally agreed to have it ready in an hour. Since the medication was ready so late, my cat had her first seizure in over a year on Saturday. In addition, while the bottle is supposed to contain 30 ml, I estimate it is about 3-4 ml low. This is probably why my prescription needed refilled so quickly.
I am very upset at the way Mullaney's handled this situation. I understand that sometimes mistakes happen and the medication wasn't ready. However, a pharmacy should have procedures in place for emergencies. People spill, lose, damage prescriptions all the time. The fact that Mullaney's hears a scheduled dose of a medication is needed right away and still won't prepare it any faster is alarming. Every other pharmacy I've been to will move your medication to the front of the line if you are willing to wait for it. Also, the staff refused to accept the refill had been called in earlier and would not admit they made a mistake. Bottom line, I will never be a customer again and would never recommend anybody else shop there.
