Definitely unlike any other

This veterinary clinic is definitely unlike any other. I was very happy that my pet dog got his right medication! We love him so much!

Dr. Wallace is great, but bad experience with other vet

Let me preface this review by saying Dr. Wallace and the staff at Montvale are great. My experience with them was that they were compassionate and honest individuals. Unfortunately, however, Dr. Cohen-Grady is the reason I will not go back and have since found another vet. She insisted on doing unnecessary tests/procedures on my pet, and when I questioned her about this, her attitude toward me became unpleasant. I've had animals for years and I've done animal rescue, fostering, and adoption. I know a little something about the basics, at least, and I knew that everything she was insisting needed to be done wasn't necessary. About $800 later, I wound up putting my pet to sleep because Dr. Wallace was kind---and ethical---enough to be honest with me about the situation, which was a grave one, just as I suspected. I should've trusted my instincts when Dr. Cohen-Grady was fighting me on what she wanted to do with my pet---I should've told her I don't agree and I should've taken my pet elsewhere. I'm still kicking myself for that because I felt taken advantage of, and on top of that, flat out insulted. She kept referring to my husband as my "boyfriend", even though I kept referring to him as my husband, and we were both wearing our wedding rings. This may sound like a silly thing to mention, but it's something I wouldn't even bring up if it weren't for the fact that it was obvious that she was being obnoxious toward me because I challenged her approach to the situation with my pet. She also made some other obnoxious remark---something to the effect of if I didn't want to do what she was suggesting, then I could just opt to humanely put my pet down. A tad harsh. And the defensive tone just gave me the vibe that making money was her number one priority. After dealing with her, I specifically asked to have Dr. Wallace put my pet down. The bottom line is on top of having to put my pet down, which was emotional enough, I came out that place feeling beat up and treated terribly. That wasn't necessary. Like I said, Dr. Wallace and the staff are great. Dr. Cohen-Grady, however, is the reason I haven't been back since. If I had a bad experience with others there, as well, I would've had to evaluate my own behavior and consider the possibility that maybe I was the common denominator. But that wasn't the case. Everyone else was great. So, in short, my advice to anyone planning on going to Montvale is to ask for an appt. with Dr. Wallace.
