I was recommended to this company since they also do the inspections for the city of Saint Augusta. The inspector identified himself as S. Hagman. The appointment was scheduled for 2pm, the inspector did not show up until five minutes to 3pm and appeared to be busy from his last job as he sat in his car for another 15 minutes shuffling paperwork before he came up to the house.I explained I was going to be closing on the house soon and wanted a final inspection. As I was explaining what I knew about the house he was visibly irritated and said he knew what he was doing and rushed into the property. Mr. Hagman was there a total of 25 minutes, 10 of which he was on his phone conducting personal business. In the end he signed off on the property with no indications of any issues or repairs needed.Four months after I purchased the house my three young children started to get sick then my wife, when we could not find the source someone suggested we have the house rechecked. Being on limited funds we spent the extra to have someone come up from the cities. The new inspector wasnt there for ten minutes before they found a severe mold issue and enough rotten wood to require the entire structure to be gutted and redone. Now in addition to having my family reduced to one room in the entire house I now have to battle with the insurance company as well. If I had the time, money and resources I would gladly sue Midstate Inspection Services Inc for their horrible disservice and can only pray that other people dont fall victim to them as well.
