Incompetant and Incapable of telling the tructh

I had a coupon from HEB for an oil change, and decided to use it. They changed my oil, rotated my tires, wanted to replace (rather than blow out to clean) both air filters, and replace two tires. Hours later my A/C started blowing hot air and my check tire light came on. I returned and two techs checked my tire pressure and said they were all fine, but couldn't reset the light. Had no idea about the A/C but "generously" offered to look at it. I had to leave and didn't feel comfortable with them. Took my vehicle to the mechanic that replaced my A/C system less than a year ago and he informed me that: the tamper evidence cap was broken, the cap to that A/C line was missing, all of my freon was gone, the two switches to the compressor were off (manual unlocking required), one tire had 10 psi too much and two of my valve stem caps were gone. $650.00 later my A/C once again worked, tires at proper psi, but my check tire light is still on; requiring me to take it to yet another shop for troubleshooting. Spoke with the owner who immediately told me that the A/C was incompetent and "screwed" me, his tech doesn't know anything about A/C systems so couldn't have done anything to it and that he heard nothing while my vehicle was in the shop; therefore, there's no way his shop could be responsible for what happened despite the problems starting within hours of having the oil changed. Right....

Not a dumb woman at Citysearch

I may be a woman, but I am not giving up my shopping money!

I took my car to Midas for an alignment at exactly 8a.m. on a Saturday morning. The guy asked if it was alright if I could leave my car there for a few hours and I said yes because I noticed that there were cars that were already in the bay. I assumed they had been left over night & that of course they would be attend to first.\t\n I had my mother pick me up and drop me off home & she called me at 1:41p.m stating how my car was still parked in the same spot that I had left it in and at exactly 2:35p.m. a gentleman called from Midas stating that they can complete the alignment on my car, but FIRST they will have to complete other services such as replace the inner and outter tie rod, a pan that was supposedly seeping, something with the power steering, etc. & all the parts & labor were a little over $1600, not including the alignment! I told him thanks & that I would be there to get my car. \t\n When I got there to pick up my car, it was still lifted in the air. To top it off the guy told me that I needed new tires (of course I need new tires because that is one of their specialties too). I took my car back to Discount tires & low & behold my tires were fine, but I did need a balance & rotation (not even 30minutes). I went to Break Check & they performed a diagnostic, all I needed was an alignment (took 30 minutes). A 6 1/2 hour & $1600+ job turned into not even 1 hour and not even $100 job! I am so thankful to God that I am not dumb enough to let people scam or lie to me & that I have enough sense to get a second & third opinion. I will never go to Midas again...
