Consequences of a DUI Charge in Alabama

Like several other states, the penalties for a DUI charge increase with each conviction in Alabama. A first offense can include license suspension, a fine of up to $2,100 and possibly a prison sentence for up to one year. A third offense (conviction) includes a mandatory prison sentence from 60 days to one year, a fine of up to $10,000 and license suspension for three years.
