Terrible company to contract for
Have had a bad experience with this company as a hired contractor. First - the initial contact. I spoke with one gentleman who asked me all the standard first contact questions and I happily relayed all my info to him. Then - in the same telephone call, I was handed over to another individual who then asked me the same exact questions. What? Why is this happening? Then I talked to a third person in a different telephone conversation a day later, who again asked me the same questions. Don't they have computers? Don't they look your information up and see that all the information is there? Don't they communicate with each other? Could it be this disorganized?\t\n\t\nThat should have told me everything I needed to know, but alas, the job they wanted me to apply for sounded truly interesting so I ignored the screaming 'Nooooo!' inside my head and continued the process.\t\n\t\nIn total, over a span of two weeks, I spoke to five people who all wanted to know 'from the beginning' who I was and what I was looking for. When I called, I always asked for the initial guy, who sounded somewhat competent, but was told one day that he - ahem - no longer worked for the company. So, in setting up the interview, which I eventually landed, I was tag teamed with an incredibly unseasoned, unprofessional ditz. Great!\t\n\t\nUsually when one of these temp companies submit your resume (and I've dealt with three others in the past - all much more competent), they tell you the wage at which they're submitting you. This did not happen, but there had been plenty of discussions surrounding what I wanted previous to the interview, so I let it go. \t\n\t\nWell, I get a phone call from ditz indicating that the hiring company loved me and my hourly wage would be x. Well, x was horrifyingly low and my 'account mis-manager' ditz knew this. While I know these companies typically don't care about you, the contractor, because they get the fat commission off the hiring company, I still couldn't believe it. She said something to the effect 'like, didn't we tell you?' No, like, you didn't and neither did y, z, a, b, nor c - all of whom I talked to in the last week. She didn't even show up my first day of work, as she'd said she would, because traffic was 'bad.'\t\n\t\nNot that I expect to be tenderly taken care of. But the whole transaction - from initial contact to final contract - was executed so poorly that when you hear 'bad' traffic got in her way, you just have to laugh and carry on. I got the job and ditz was so obviously on to hooking the next fish. She could care less. Contract signed, money made.\t\n\t\nLesson learned, I say. My instincts screamed, run, run for your professional life, and I didn't. As I mentioned before, there are plenty of other shops out there that do a fantastic job of representing their people - they actually care about retaining you and seeing that you get what you want. Let's see, that makes sense. If you're happy, you'll continue with them and perhaps apply for other jobs, etc., thereby making them more money. Everyone walks away happy. InsightGlobal - at least the Hanover branch - cares very much about making a fast buck and not giving a dang about what happens to you after you land the job. \t\n\t\nIf they call you, heed my 'insight' and say 'no thanks!'

I can?t express how much I enjoy working at Insight Global! I love the people who I work with because everyone is so driven and determined and it?s really motivating to be around so many young professionals. I also like the fact that there is so much room for growth within the company. Insight Global promotes internally so you have the ability to get promoted in a short time frame into a higher level position. Overall, I am having a great experience and have nothing negative to say!
