Warning Hurd Windows Implode
We have had now 6 of our Hurd casement Windows in my house implode. These are terrible DANGEROUS windows that jeopardize the safety of my young children, my husband and myself.
It is absolutely mind-boggling to me that this keeps happening. Seriously, is wrong with these windows? The first 3 windows were replaced by Hurd, because it was prior to the bankruptcy. Last year’s imploded window was replaced at half price by our local window company (Hurd had nothing to do with it). Now I have 2 more to replace. I have written Hurd but I get no response. I could care less that liability for these windows ended with the bankruptcy. These windows are DANGEROUS!
Honestly, can no one be responsible for anything anymore? Hurd Windows are bad and the company is worse. Stay away from Hurd Windows. I don’t have room here, but if you want to read in detail about my horrible Hurd Window situation, read www.shannonob.com
What do you want to know?
We have all Hurd Windows & Patio doors which were installed when we built our home. They were good for a few years but then started leaking and ruining the interior walls. We have had to replace our patio door with a Marvin. We are in the process of replacing 5 windows with Marvin. We would like to replace all of them but due to the cost have to do in in stages. Hurd windows are not cheap and we would never recommend them to anyone.
We wish we had read the complaints on the internet before we let our builder talk us into Hurd windows and doors.
Great Casement Windows
We're remodeling, and we have just installed 14 new Hurd casement windows. We researched the market extensively, and are convinced that Hurd casements are best for us. They are very well-made, and they look great. I'd recommend a specialist to install them because they are heavy and require someone who knows what he's doing to get them installed correctly.
We compared the design with everything out there, and were convinced Hurd was best for us. They're installed now, and we couldn't be happier.
