Gift card warning
Warning, this restrurant is under new management. If you brought a gift card during the summer it is no longer valid. The new owners posts no signs telling the customers that the owner is different. Nothing about the place is different except when you are paying the bill with a gift card they will not accept it. Thank goodness my bill was only about $50 but since my gift card was worth $100 the meal costed me $150. The manager gave me 5% off and took my gift card. I am sure they could have handle it better since many loyal customers buy these gift card. To that end, this place has lost a loyal customer.

My wife and I had been going to Hungry Hunter for about 20 years. It is my wife's favorite restaurant. We received a Hungry Hunter gift certificate for Mother's Day. In the afternoon, I called to make a reservation for 6:30. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were informed that there was no reservation under our name. Luckily, it weren't that busy, so we were seated immediately. We ordered the calamari fritti for appetizer and that nearly ruin our dinner. The batter on the calamar was oily and the calamari was mushy. My wife's pasta was in so much grease that it was doing the back stroke and the bottom of the plate was orange in color. I ordered a 1 lb. 3 oz. house cut prime rib. Well it look more like a shed cut. Most of the prime rib was about 1/2 inch thick. If that was the house cut, I wonder what you get for the petite cut . I have to say that the prime rib was tasty and tender and the waiter was courteous but it is not enough for us to return ever again. Now I know why the place was not busy for a Friday night. That alone should be an indication of things to come. A total disappointment.
