Reviews about The Beverly Hilton
great city weekend getaway
I was surprised when I walked in at how big and beautiful it was and even more surprised when I got to the pool level. The pool is huge and there are more than enough lounge chairs unlike every other hotel I have stayed at in LA. Also cool at night you can get drinks at Trader Vics and they show old surfing movies on the side of the building! There was a gorgeous view from the room and a large balcony and everyone is so friendly!! Be sure to visit the spa, it's small but right next to the pool and has a great lounge and the services are very reasonably priced.

My family started staying here when I was a teenager back in the 70's and we always liked it but as time went by it really became run down. It's too bad because in general Hilton's are rather decent. (although this particular one was privately owned by Merv Griffin) I remember the penthouse restaurant in the pre Stardust days when it was L'Escoffier and it was as fabulous as a restaurant could be. In fact many people claim Merv bought the hotel just so he could always have his favorite table there. The current Stardust is not noteworthy. You get the feeling that this was a wonderful place in days gone by but it has fallen into ruin. The hotel has a shabby sense about it. Again, it's ashame because it was such a glorious place & in a primo location. If you are in Beverly Hills go to any number of other very fine, elegant hotels. This one will be a let down.

I went there for a family vacation to just take some time off from the real world. It is a very expensive hotel but if you somehow happen to have some extra money or coupon like I did then don't miss this opportunity. THe staff, food, servi...
