Fabulous Wedding Venue!
I would recommend the Gale Mansion as a wedding reception venue to anyone! The mansion itself is a masterpiece - exquisite woodwork, fireplaces; you get access to the entire 3 floors when you book. \t\n\t\nYour party can gather in the brand new ballroom on the lower level or mix/mingle throughout the 2 upper floors to enjoy the beauty of the place.\t\n\t\nOne of the best things about the experience was the staff. Angela runs the show and she is a gem. Easy to work with, knows exactly what she's doing, guided me through the entire process. She and her assistants and the entire wait staff, bartenders, even the security guard were friendly without being overbearing. Our entire night went flawlessly thanks to the experienced workers. \t\n\t\nThe mansion is located right by a park and has nice grounds for picture taking. They also have an inhouse chef who cooks up great food!\t\n\t\nIf you're looking for a romantic and beautiful venue for your wedding reception, I would highly recommend the Gale Mansion!

I would like to start out by saying it was a beautiful building and the food was really good.\t\nThat being said, I have to say the service (or rather lack thereof) I received there was unacceptable.\t\nI had the misfortune of sitting at the fabled "forgotton table" and sadly have to come here to tell my tale.\t\nThe serving staff forgot to tell us when it was our turn to go up for food so we all sat there politely watching others return with their second and third plates. Finally we gave up and made our way there. We never received any beverage refills and one of the BRIDESMAIDS to help us get something to drink. Lastly, I never received a piece of wedding cake and every other person in the room did.\t\nAs a former server I have to say it was probably the most disapointing experience I have had to date.

I was recently married at the Gale Mansion and the staff at first were really friendly, until I met the catering manager, Angela. I didn't realize she was the catering manager because she never said that when we were introduced. During our first meeting I thought she was just a volunteer or regular staff because she didn't seem very knowledgeable about the mansion or my wedding plans. During my wedding, Angela was quite rude to my husband and I. We had brought in some alcohol before the ceremony to celebrate and she confronted us about it. I felt like a high school kid in trouble and about to be sent to the principle's office. I also heard back from other guests that she was rude to them in general. As a result of bringing in liquor, we lost our $500 deposit (even though the mansion made about $3,000 at their bar during the reception). The Gale mansion also charged us for about 10 dinners no one ate and lost our unity sand. The Gale mansion is beautiful and the other staff seemed to be very helpful and friendly, unfortunately Angela is the "boss" over there and has the last say in every thing, which is the biggest down fall for the beautiful event location.
