Evenfall Restaurant Bar & Lounge

We made a reservation via the internet and received an email confirmation. In spite of this, they didn't have us listed when we arrived. But they were very gracious and gave us a very nice corner table.

Bread is baked on the premesis and was great, served with oil and roasted garlic. We both ordered the "deconstructed beef wellington" which was absolutely delicious--cooked perfectly and with a wonderful mushroom accompaniment.

I had the warm chocolate cake with homemade ice cream for dessert. I'm a chocoholic and am always looking for the best dense chocolate cake. This one had a great chocolate taste and just the right texture.

We found the service attentive and pleasant. Our server appeared at all the right times. We will return to this restaurant again to try more of their menu.

Not sure how they won the awards listed in the review below. I recently ate there a few weeks ago and was not impressed at all. The atmosphere was very nice but the service was lacking. Our server was lifeless and it was pretty obvious that she didn't want to be there. The food was good not great. I had a burger that was a little greasy. My girlfriend had a chicken dish that she said was "decent" at best. Would I eat there again, maybe, but I certainly won't rush back. I'd rather eat down the street at Loft of Joe Fish.

I own evenfall restaurant and wouldlike to comment on the previous review, I am disappointed she would write these things. I am happy however to have Evenfall named "The best Restaurant North of Boston for General Excellence" by Boston Magazine in their august 2007 issue, to have flattering reviews to our credit from the Boston Globe, Northshore Magazine, and the Portsmouth Herald.... please judge for yourself.
