Great nieghborhood feel

This is a good place for breakfast in Castro Valley. The staff is friendly from the owner and his wife, to the guy who rides a bike and wears a Hawaiian shirt.

I usually order from the breakfast menu and have been fairly happy with the food, except I don't like the spanish omelet. The Doug's is my favorite because it's tasty and gigantic. I can eat a lot when the sun's out and more when it's dark, hehe.

Mostly, it's a nice place to go when I'm in Castro Valley. Kind of what you expect from a mom and pop place.

Have fun and don't order the soup. Out

Expensive and inconsistent.

Expensive and inconsistent. Had breakfast with a group of friends. Service was good, but a couple of us ordered the vegetarian omelettes (all omelette dishes, 3 eggs over $10, with hash browns and toast). One was good, the other was greasy like the vegetables were cooked in grease, then added to the eggs. The veggies were so oily, the eggs would even stick to them. Also the coffee creamer must not be refrig, cause we had one come out of the container in a solid plop into our coffee. With the variety of good breakfast places in Castro Valley (Jenny's, JD's), I would not come here. Also it is true that thier Eggs Benedict does come with "Golden sauce" instead of hollidaise. Strange.
