The donut staff is really really great and accomodating. I am a regular customer because of their care! Their donuts are great as well.

Fresh anytime of the day

Fresh anytime of the day. If there is something you want and not in the case, I have had the owner run in the back and make me a fresh doughnut. \t\nI go in after mass on Sunday and have a cup of coffee before I bring home a dozen to the family.\t\nIt's a nice way to start the week. The employees are always nice and friendly and always glade to see you.

Melt in your mouth Donuts!

For a truly fresh donut experience, stop at the Donut Wheel mid-evening and you won't be disappointed. I discovered this place coming back from a class at Pima College West. I would typically show up around 9:15 pm while the donuts were being made. I do have favorites, but any one of their fresh offerings always pleases. So I find out which ones are the freshest and order those. The glazed buttermilk bar and glazed raised were heavenly. I have also had the old-fashioned and cake donuts and all were superior to any other donut I have had in many, many years. The tiny Donut Wheel is quite close to the 10 freeway, and if only all the weary passersby who needed a pick-me-up knew about this place it would probably start going gang-busters and have to expand. The place closes at 9:30 p.m., but I am not sure what time it opens -- I think around 5 a.m. The proprietor is very friendly and often puts some complementary donut holes in my bag. Also, these donuts hold very well into the next day, the mark of quality ingredients and fresh fryer oil. Just give them 5 seconds in a microwave to refresh them later. I haven't tried their coffee, so I can't comment on that, but there is a Starbucks up Ina Rd. a mile or so.
