Love, love, love her

I had a really bad dental experience two years ago which has lead to a mouth full of cavities for every filling that dentist put in my mouth - except for the one that fell out. I won't know until years later if her techniques are long-lasting but these are the reasons why I love Dr. Tjoa. (1) The office is exceptionally professional and clean. You get a tour and see for yourself. (2) I never wait. Dr. Tjoa hates to make people wait. The little time I had to, it was 5 minutes. (3) The staff is so incredibly nice and personable. (4) The hygienist is very careful. My gums were spared a quick session but instead were carefully tended to. (5) Dr. Tjoa is very updated on her techniques and education. She informed me of the problems that come from silver filling and why I have so many cavities. She possibly spared me a root canal. (6) Typically there is only one assistant but while I was getting Cerac fillings, another assistant and the hygienist help and gave their opinion on the fillings to make sure I had it just right. The cooperation among them made me feel more confidant on their skills, since my teeth were not in the hands of just one person. (7) Though this is only superficial, it was important to me that not only did the office look professional and clean but also the people. Everyone is beautiful not only because of their appearance but also personality. My last dentist was in a dingy looking office with equipment and tools that looked like it came from the 70's. Looks are nothing big but it makes me feel better mentally. (8) There are movies and music you can distract yourself with. I hated looking at my dentist or the ceiling for 1-3 hours at a time. Every minute is agony and seemed much longer than normal. Instead now, I can have a movie to distract my attention. Such a great idea. (9) Mouthwash and hot towel after your procedures. (10) Dr. Tjoa knows what she's talking about. She's younger, which could have been a disadvantage but I found that she was more knowledgeable and probably better trained on the technology that has come from dentistry. She's a conservative on procedures and addresses all the concerns you have. With an older dentist, maybe I would have received years of skills but I feel confident in Dr. Tjoa ability and skills. I have more cavities to fill and will need to continue to go throughout the years for insurance purposes but my fears have been greatly mollified and I'm looking forward to seeing my hygienist 3 times a year to maintain my oral health.
