Charrette

The Charrette retail store in Woburn will be closing it's doors on June 30th 2009. They have not made this public, but I have a friend who works there. Very sad, as it is a one of a kind place.

charrette really has just about everything you could think of, and more. there's an amazingly underrated frame shop, a great selection of good quality products, and the staff is made entirely or artists who really know their stuff and are more than willing to help, or even just chat about art with you. there's a community board in the entranceway with artist business cards, shows, classes and upcoming art events, and there's half a van drilled into the wall... this place is great and has a wonderful atmosphere. everyone is friendly and really helpful. membership is only $5/year and there's a bargain center if you're looking for stuff cheap, plus there's a huge warehouse built onto the back of the store. definitely worth the visit, and not as difficult to get to as other places. go here!! you won't be sorry!!!
