Charles Lascheid Contractor

Chuck (Lascheid Industries) is a very nice (if extremely talkative) guy and in general the workmanship of his subcontractors was excellent. Unfortunately, during the large remodel he did for us he lost track of the finances and was unable to provide accurate estimates of costs or accurate interim billing statements and receipts. We had to pay the subcontractors directly in order to finish the job, and the final cost of the job was more than twice the initial estimate and required 6 months more than predicted, in part due to inefficiency in management and timing of different subcontractors. Review by the contractors state license board found several irregularities, including a confusing and vague contract. I would recommend Lascheid only for much smaller projects, and only if a fixed-price contract were reviewed by a knowledgeable lawyer prior to starting.
