Cancicci's...No service, never had the food
I would love to say that I have enjoyed eating at Can dicci's and give them many stars, but the only time I wanted to eat there, I couldn't get a server to acknowledge my presence. It was a Wednesday night and the restuaurant was moderately busy. No wait, I was seated right away and my wife and I were handed a menu. 10 mintutes lapsed and I signaled for the hostess who had no idea that a server hadn't greeted us yet. She said we'd have one momentarily. 15 then 20 minutes lapsed and though the hostess directed servers to tables who were seated after us, no server. My wife and I got up, walked right past the hostess who said absolutely nothing. Isolated incident? Maybe, but it does not excuse not poor, but absolutely no service. Draw your own conlcusion....

So this is probably the best Italian food I've ever eaten. We hosted a party here sight unseen and had never eaten the food, since we live out of town. I was a little nervous, given this but we were blown away by this place. We booked based on the outstanding price point and the recommendation of a few friends/family that had eaten here previously. The service was outstanding. The guys kept the drinks coming and we even stayed longer than our time alotted, and nobody hurried us along! The toasted ravioli, something I don't normally order, were to die for. We also got the pasta con broccoli and canneloni and honestly, they were some of the best I've ever tasted. The pasta con broccoli comes with a thicker noodle, which I prefer, and the cannellonis had a delicious three-meat blend with both red and white sauce. This place is really an unknown gem and I'd recommend booking either a party or visiting to eat there soon - once this place is discovered, the line will be out the door!

For those who think the best Italian food can only be found in "The Hill" area of St. Louis, check again. This restaurant in Ballwin, MO is running right beside the best of the best. Located at Manchester and Holloway sitting on a hill now called "The Little Hill". You don't have to live in the city to sample this Italian menu of award winning pasta's, chicken, veal, and seafood dishes. The dinning room was very pleasent and my server (Tommy) very friendly and knowledgeable. Candicci's also caters large parties and business meetings. I had the opportunity to meet the father/son team, Chef (Rodney Leadbetter) and assistant (Zach Leadbetter) and toured the vegetable and herb garden located outside of the kitchen. Not all restaurants grow their own produce. I give Candicci's 5 stars and highly recommend having a meal with your family here.
