Nuisance to the doctor

I had a fairly okay experience for the majority of my ob visits with Dr Dugan, a doctor new to the practice. She was straight forward and professional. Unforchantly when I went into labor over a weekend she was not on call at Calvert memorial. At 5 minute apart contractions and being on increasingly more painful labor for 24 hours my husband and I went to the hospital. I was made to lie down to monitor my contractions- which due to the change in position decreased back to 10 minutes apart. The on call doctor- Johnson- did not speak to me but the nurse- and told her to send me home with an ambien. Yes, a sleeping pill and sent me home because they were not close enough together. I asked if I could walk around and was told to go home and come back when they were fi e minutes. Well I did not take a sleeping pill as prescribed and as soon as I walked out of labor and delivery I was five minutes apart again and crying because I was in so much pain. I went to four minutes in the car and soon was at three minutes at home. We called again while I sat in the tub, wincing and crying in horrific pain and was told to go walk around for an hour somewhere or change position and call back in an hour. At this point I could barely move or talk and my husband had to physically carry me to the car to drive me to back to the hospital after being sent home only a few two and half hours later.
I could feel the baby's head as we entered and waited for almost an hour because there was no doctor or anatoglolgist in the hospital. If the doctor had cared or even got on the phone do I could explain what had been happening I could have had a much less painful and stressful labor. I could have felt safe and gad medication. Instead she did not want to be bothered with me and actually said to the nurses after my delivery- "see you can't plan these things, babies come when they want"

Of course this is true but I did not have to be made to suffer an unnecessary painful labor because in was inconvient for her to speak with me orate I was disrupting her weekend plans. The next day Dr. Johnson popped in while I was nursing and said she was taking him, not waiting until he was done eating- like she was in a big rush. The next day I had to wait three hours later to be discharged because she never filled out me paperwork and thou she was in earlier that morning she could not find the time to stop in to follow up and answer any questions or concerns or go over follow up care.

I had a terrible experience and hope that anyone else looking for ob/gyn for there babies go to a practice in annapolis where there will at least be a doctor to deliver if you are ready to push.
