I brought my '98 Buick in for front brake repairs and for estimates on body repair for damage suffered in an accident. The front brakes were scraping very loudly. I gave WRITTEN instructions to repair the FRONT BRAKES and to give me an estimate on the body work. The mechanic, Larry, calls me in the morning to tell me that the front end of the car will cost me nearly $485. He also tells me that the rear brakes need to be cleaned and flushed, and that will cost me $480. Finally, he tries to sell me on replacing some tiny brake lights for over $100 (the cost is $20-$30 at any oil change center). I told him to only fix the front end, because that's what I needed. At the end of the day, he calls me to tell me that the front end is done, but I should really get my brakes fixed because they are scraping. WHAT? That's what he was supposed to fix. Instead, he replaced some parts on the front suspension and charged me $500 for it.

The estimate for the body work was outrageous.
