About Grand Canyon, AZ
One of the most popular destinations in the entire world, the Grand Canyon is the pride of Arizona. It draws some five million visitors a years, most from the United States but also from around the globe. Some prefer to enjoy the scenic wonder from its edge while others hike into the canyon or take in the sights from above during a breathtaking helicopter ride. Now protected as a national park, the Grand Canyon was formed over a period of more than five million years, scientists say, from erosion caused by the flowing Colorado River.
