What is the Meaning of a Cyber Cafe?
A cyber cafe is usually a cafe, restaurant or coffee shop with several computers connected to the Internet, and used for a fee. Cyber cafes allow people easy access to Internet service while away from home. People can use a cyber cafe for many reasons.
- Cyber cafes are useful to anyone traveling and want or need to pack light. Some may choose not to lug around a laptop while traveling. This is often true for backpackers or on other kinds of active vacations. Cyber cafes allow travelers to check their email, make reservations and confirm travel plans without carrying the physical weight of a computer.
- Using a cyber cafe is convenient for anyone without a computer or Internet service. Perhaps a personal computer is in the shop for repairs, electricity has been lost due to a storm, or a recent move to a new apartment has not provided time for Internet service to be set up quite yet. Cyber cafes allow conducting business as usual for a small fee until the situation becomes settled.
- If a computer or Internet is not a routine aspect in life, it may be beneficial to sell any existing, unused computer and discontinue Internet service if a Cyber cafe is located nearby. Paying at a cyber cafe only when needed may save quite a bit of money in the long run, especially if paying for an unecessary service, or if not used often enough to justify the monthly fees and costs.
