What Are KitchenAid Appliances?

KitchenAid appliances have long been a favorite in American homes for almost a century.  Their first stand mixer, invented in 1919, is now housed in the Smithsonian Museum.  Since that time, they have made a name for themselves in marketing smaller appliances like toasters as well as their popular line of mixers.

"I don't care what you call it, but I know it's the best kitchen aid I ever had."

That was allegedly the quote of one of the first housewives who used the then unnamed KitchenAid stand mixer.  Since then, KitchenAid has one the acclaim of cooks and chefs in both homes and restaurants.   In a 2005 survey of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, KitchenAid  ranked as the best brand for kitchen appliances.   KitchenAid has established itself in three primary areas: stand mixers, small kitchen appliances and large kitchen appliances.

Stand Mixers

KitchenAid offers 16 different stand mixer models, including the Commercial 5 series, The Professional 5 Plus series and the Classic Series.  The various professional series offer restaurant-quality kitchen appliances at affordable prices suitable for home use, highlighted by the Professional Heavy Duty Series and its rugged stainless steel finish.  There are over 50 mixer attachments for making breads and pastas, which are offered by KitchenAid.

Small Kitchen Appliances

These types of appliances are a natural offshoot from their mixers as these also sit either neatly on the countertop or within easy reach in the cupboards.  KitchenAid Waffle Bakers, coffee makers, espresso machines, two and four-slice toasters, food processors, blenders and slow cookers.

Large Kitchen Appliances

In 1986, Whilrpool bought KitchenAid and their experience in the large appliances sector has helped KitchenAid gain popularity here as well.  The company came out with their first dishwasher in 1946 and has since expanded into offering refrigerators as well as convection ovens, microwave ovens, stovetops and cooktops.
