Travertine
This is a sedimentary stone that is created naturally in Turkey and Italy. There are two types that are made for outdoor use. Tumbled travertine is one type. There is also the honed or chisel edged travertine. Both of those come in a variety of thickness. These types of pavers are known to stay cool and will not freeze or thaw. The colors on these pavers will not fade. If you want to create a natural and unique driveway, there are kits that contain pavers of different sizes.
Granite
Granite is composed of mica, quartz and feldspar. These types of pavers are made in the crust of the earth. It is best for climates that are cold and is available in a variety of colors. The best pavers will have a rating of six and higher. You can find them in many different shapes and patterns. Some of the patterns include diamonds and hexagons.
Rubber
Rubber pavers are created from recycled tires. They are durable and require very little maintenance. They can be glued or interlocked so they can be easily removed. Rubber pavers do not cause slips. The pavers come in different colors such as red, black, brown and green.
Grass and Turf
Cement with grass grown over them is known as grass and turf pavers. A grid has to be installed before these types of pavers are installed. The grid helps hold the pavers up and allows them to drain. These types of pavers are environmentally friendly. Many of these pavers are many of recycled plastic. They are easy to install.
Mexican Pavers
This type of is made from clay. They are handmade into different varieties, which are the name of towns where the clay is found. They have to be sealed so they can last long and can be protected from the weather. Sealing them also help them keep their color. Saltillo, Hacienda and Lincoln are three types. Saltillo provides a rustic look while Hacienda is yellow or orange and can be custom made. Lincoln Mexican pavers are dark in color.
