Types of Painter Jobs Available

Painting may not seem like a difficult job but whenever it is not done properly it can cause some issues.  This is why there are a lot of different types of painters available for hire today.  Knowing who they are and what they do will make it easier for you to decide which one is the right one for you to hire for your painting job.

  • A painting contractor is a professional who specializes in contracting out painting jobs.  Regardless of what type of painting you need to have done, they will be able to find someone to do it for you.  They will also be able to find someone to finish a surface; apply wallpaper, vinyl and fabric; and fix damage to the area before it is painted. This may be their personal job, or they have team members who are qualified in each area of painting.

  • A house painter is responsible for painting your home’s various surfaces.  However, they must first provide you with a quote that is either printed out or written neatly to clearly show you how much the job will cost.  This quote needs to include the scope of the job, how long it will take and what materials are needed.  There are several classifications of house painters. They include the journeyman, who prepares the job to be painted and the lead painter, which is the person who actually does the painting. The painting supervisor who is responsible for overseeing the painting job and reporting to the supervisor is also a type of house painter. The painting supervisor is responsible for ensuring that everything is done right and that people are scheduled to handle the jobs that need to be done.

  • An interior painter is responsible for painting the inside of your home.  They will give it a fresh, clean look for you.  Oftentimes they work side by side with an interior designer who is responsible for creating the plans for this new look of your home.

  • A construction painter is a specialized job.  These painters need to be able to work from scaffolding as they will oftentimes work on high-rise buildings.  They are also responsible for creating the right color of paint to be used on these buildings.

  • A spray painter is someone who will paint the body of your vehicle.  They will use a spray gun to do this work.  It is also their job to prepare the surface before painting it and to mix the paint; this is to ensure that the paint will be the precise color.
