Types of Nose Jewelry
Nose piercing are the second most popular piercing in the United States, right after ear piercing. Because of its popularity, there has also been a huge jump in nose jewelry sales as well. When nose piercing started in the United States a traditional earring for the ear was used, now there are specific pieces that are made for noses.
- Studs- Studs are very similar to the earrings that are used in the ear. This type of nose jewelry has a flat back so that there is nothing that you have to attach to the post that can obstruct your airway or cause you to have limited breathing on one side or your nose.
- Screws- For many, the flat back on a nose stud is uncomfortable and digs into the nose. Screws are becoming widely popular because they twist through the hole in your nose and gently sit against the nostril. The screw portion of the nose jewelry is a lot thinner than a stud would be.
- Hoops- Hoops are popular nose jewelry pieces for those that play sports, have small children as well as people with septum piercing. ThThese small thin wires go through the hole and connect with the other side to form a circle that is less likely to be ripped out or come undone.
