There are certain types of cat cleaning accessories that every cat owner should plan on purchasing. Use common sense and vacuum or use dust mops more often. Many people purchase cleaning products that are hypo allergenic or green. Otherwise regular cleaning products can be utilized.
- Assess the type of cat you have or will be getting. You will want to have different types of cat cleaning supplies as early as possible to establish a routine.
- Research the particular breed of cat you have. Each breed has different cleaning and grooming needs.
- Decide on how you are going to house train your cat. Most people use litter boxes of some sort. Many cat breeders will have already trained the cats to use a litter box. It is an instinctual nature of the cat to bury its waste. If you do not provide an indoor training spot cats will find one.
- Choose the type of litter box you feel will best meet you household needs. There are various options available. Take the time to research each one prior to purchase. Some types need more air ventilation. Others are self-cleaning to some degree but may make noises.

- Place a cat litter box mat in front of the opening to the litter box. This will help keep tracking down. Some cats have a tendency to kick litter out of the box.
- Buy plenty of cat litter of a brand that you have researched. All have pros and cons.
- Find grooming brushes and combs for longhaired cats. There are also grooming mitts.
- Use lint rollers, brushes or tape to keep cat fur shedding down. Some people cover their furniture to remove when guests arrive.
