The History of World Soccer

If you are a soccer fan and love watching the games like so many people do, you may not know the history of the sport, but it is quite fascinating to learn about. It has a very interesting history with many forms of soccer being played in every area of the world at some point.

18th Century Soccer in England

Soccer began to become very popular in England during the 18th century, and it was mostly prevalent among the universities. There were not a lot of soccer rules in the early days and it was played more for fun than competition, but Eton College in England was the school that started making rules for a more competitive sport. It is often referred to as football rather then soccer in England, but this should not be confused with the American version of football.
