The Best Steaks to Barbecue on the Grill

It is hard to beat a good quality steak cooked outdoors on the grill. The smell of a barbeque is one of those things that brings back childhood memories of being with the family on a weekend trip to the lake or even a local park. The best steaks to barbeque on a grill require little seasoning and cook to perfection as fast as possible.

Ribeye

This cut is from the top of the rib section and is considered one of the best steaks a person can order at a restaurant. Excellent marbleization and tender beef is the main reason why people love this cut of meat so much. A ribeye does not require much seasoning as the natural flavors will come out during the cooking process. The marbleization is in part what helps this steak stay so juicy and tender.

Filet Mignon

The filet is a very tender boneless cut of beef from the tenderloin region. Probably the most sought after steak for those seeking a truly unforgetable dining experience. This cut is considered best cooked medium to medium rare. Cooking on the grill only requires a few minutes on each side for perfection.

T-bone

Also referred to as a porterhouse, this cut is taken from the small end of the loin containing a bone in the shape of a t, thus the name t-bone steak. Depending on the butcher, this cut will include part of the filet and on the other side of the bone sits the sirloin. This great cut of beef will only require 5-7 minutes of grilling on each side for a great tasting steak.

Sirloin

This is a prime cut of beef coming from the upper part of the loin just in front of the round. With a little marbleization, this cut can taste just as good as the ribeye if cooked properly. Thick cuts usually take close to seven minutes per side on a grill.
