Process to Replacing Tires on an RV

If your RV tires are worn, it may be time to replace them. Tires are critical to safety and performance. If your tires are worn, you run the risk of having a blowout, which could be detrimental to you and the vehicles around you. Replacing RV tires is a simple process.

Replacing RV Tires

1. Determine the size of your RV tires. You can find tire size information in the owner's manual or on the sidewall of the tire.

2. Select tires that have "RV" in the tire code. These types of tires are specifically made for recreational vehicles. Load range is important when selecting tires; this is the weight the tire can handle. Look in your owner's manual for the exact load rage needed for your RV tires.

3. Tread pattern is also important when replacing RV tires. If you will be driving in snow and ice, you should consider snow tires. All weather tires are optimal for driving in all types of weather conditions.

4. Tire durability should also be a factor when replacing RV tires. Some tires are guaranteed to last up to 30,000 miles while other can last up to 70,000 miles. The 70,000-mile tire might be a little more expensive; however, it will last you twice as long.

5. Call around to different tire dealers, such as Discount Tire, Goodyear or do local search on MerchantCircle for a tire store in your area. Compare prices from each store.

6. Once you have chosen where to purchase your new RV tires, bring your RV in to have them replaced.
