How to Treat Gingivitis
Many people experience gingivitis at times. Even if you take care of your teeth on a regular basis by flossing and brushing, you may begin to experience some form of the condition. This is because as with age your body begins to change. The change could come from certain medications, body chemistry or just the body beginning to age. There are things that you can do to treat gingivitis.
- Rinse with bacteria fighting oral mouthwash. There are many products that the FDA have approved. Check with your oral health care provider if you are not sure what to use.
- Make an appointment to visit your dentist. At the first sign of having problems with your teeth, you should make an appointment to see your dentist. He will diagnose your symptoms and recommend a course of action. Depending on the severity of your condition your dentist may recommend a deep scale cleaning of the roots of your teeth.
- Drink herbal teas. Try drinking peppermint, green tea or Echinacea. These are great teas that help soothe your gums. You can use caraway oil to rinse the inflammation of your gums.
- Implement vitamins and nutrients into your diet plan. Put more vitamin C and calcium into your diet. These vitamins help with viruses, bacteria and keep the bones in your mouth strong and healthy.
- Brush your teeth regularly. Make sure you are brushing twice a day. Use a toothpaste that helps fight against gingivitis. There are many great products that are available in most drug stores. If you are interested in natural products a little baking soda works great to clean your teeth.
- Make sure you floss daily. Flossing helps keep food from building up between your teeth. This keeps bacteria from building up and causing gingivitis
