How to Star In Music Videos

If you dream of being in a music video, there are some steps that you can take to help make that dream come true. Music videos will often need a lot of extras in the background, one of these extras could be you. You just have to let the right people know that you are interested.

  1. Have some professional photos taken, or at least some high quality ones that you or a friend take. It is a good idea to have a full body photo and one of just your head.

  2. Make a list of special talents you have. Include any dance experience and any special talents you have. Even if it seems to be something not related to music, list it. You never know, a band might just be looking for that talent.

  3. Type up a paper with your name, contact information and physical description, including height and weight.

  4. Join a casting service or booking agent. Bring all of the above information with you; they will need that for their files. The service is who will actually send you out on calls. They hear of auditions and when someone is needed fitting your description, you will be called and given the information. There is a fee for the service. Be sure to find out what it is. You may need to have a credit or debit card on file for automatic payment withdrawals.

  5. Once you receive a call to show up for a music video, be sure to arrive early. Do your hair and makeup at home. You should be ready to be on camera when you arrive. There may be a lot of down time, so bring a book or something to keep busy, when you are not needed.
