How to Spot Fake Odyssey Putters
If you are planning on purchasing an Odyssey putter, you need to make sure you buy the real thing and not a fake one. There is a lot of counterfeit golf equipment on the market today. If you see a super cheap putter that is normally a lot higher, chances are it is a fake. Fortunately, there are ways that you can tell if an Odyssey putter is the real thing or a fake.
- Look for the serial number on the Odyssey putter. If it is a real Odyssey putter, it will have a serial number etched into the back of the hostel. If the serial number does not look professional, or you find it someplace else on the putter, it is probably a fake. Write down the serial number and call their customer support number to check it. They will be able to tell you if it is an authentic number.
- Look at the color of the Odyssey putter. If the color of the Odyssey putter you are looking at looks uneven or unprofessional, it is probably not a genuine putter. Run your hand up and down the putter and make sure the finish is very smooth. If it is not and you feel any kind of bumps in it, the putter is probably a fake.
- Look on the putter for the name Odyssey, as well as the other markings that are on all Odyssey putters. If they do not look professional or the paint job is uneven, it is probably a fake. A real Odyssey putter will have a perfect paint job and nothing will be out of place.
- Look at the spelling of Odyssey. It may be spelled differently, such as “Odessa,” or missing a letter. If you do see this, you are looking at a fake putter.
- Make sure you purchase your Odyssey putter from a trustworthy dealer. If you purchase the putter on the Internet, make sure the site you purchase it from is legitimate and has no complaints against it.
