How to Set Up Countdown Clocks

Countdown clocks can be a lot of fun no matter what you use them for. Half the fun of a countdown clock is setting them up as there are so many designs that you can get for them. They can be used on your desktop, email, and your social networking sites.

  1. Log into your favorite countdown creator site. Start by selecting the year, month, day, hour and second that your event starts. This is the date and time that your countdown clock will stop.

  2. Select a skin or graphic for your countdown clock. Most people choose a theme based on what they are counting down for such as a new baby, Christmas or their birthday.

  3. Some countdown clocks will also allow you to select a slider for your clock as well. Choose the one that best fits your event and theme for your clock if your chosen site offers one. These can be anything such as Santa sliding across a rooftop as Christmas approaches.

  4. Write a message for your countdown clock. This tells everyone that sees it what you are counting down for. This is helpful if you have several countdown clocks on your social networking site, computer desktop or email.

  5. Select the colors you want your message and date to appear in. These can be the same color or different if you would like.

  6. Once everything is as you would like it to look, confirm it by accepting the terms and conditions. Copy and paste the HTML code that is provided once you have confirmed the accuracy of your countdown clock. Use this code to place your countdown clock on your social networking sites, email and computer desktop.
